CTG customer receives $2 million order
Tue 13th, Feb 2007
Pentadyne Power Corporation, a Los Angeles based company have received an order from Beaver Aerospace and Defence to supply them with 46 carbon fibre composite flywheel power systems. The flywheels are used for storing kinetic energy in uninterruptible power supply systems. The system can generate sufficient energy to last through short power cuts or until a back-up generator is started. This $2 million order is the third from Beaver Aerospace and Defence and is part of a contract making Pentadyne the exclusive supplier of more then 500 clean energy storage systems for homeland security military defence applications.
CTG manufacture the composite flywheel for Pentadyne using the process of filament winding. CTG has already invested in new machinery and extra people to ensure all orders can be met. In 2006 an extra 25 people were employed at the company, which shows the dramatic growth not only in industrial areas but also aerospace, medical imaging and motorsport.
