CTG Soapbox finishes 4th at Prescott
Mon 30th, Sep 2002
The CTG 'Flying Propshaft' soapbox recovered from an early setback to finish 4th overall at the Prescott Soapbox Gravity Race yesterday.
The event was organised by the Bugatti Owners' Club at their home course, and featured many of the soapboxes raced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.
The CTG car was this time driven by Ed Allnutt, whose second run time of 63.8 seconds put the team in 4th place. On his first run, Ed spun the Flying Propshaft at the Pardon Hairpin, recovering to post a respectable 69.3seconds. However, this gave him only the second run to post a time fast enough to challenge for a top placing.
After the team's 6th place at Goodwood, the CTG Soapbox team continues to improve, and will soon begin work on the 2003 car.
