CTG sponsors Formula Schools Team
Wed 23rd, Jan 2002
Crompton Technology Group Ltd is supporting the Formula Schools competition for the first time.
The competition involves schools from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Nottinghamshire and the Midlands. Teams of students will design, develop, build and race 1/8 scale petrol-powered radio-controlled cars.
CTG is working with 2000 winner and 2001 runner-up Lord Williams's School of Thame, Oxfordshire, as they attempt to regain their title.
CTG Marketing Manager Jeff Hilton is right behind the project: "Formula Schools is a competition that we are proud to support. The event gives Year 10 students the opportunity to learn about many aspects of motorsport and in particular racecar development.
"We will be providing the students with technical information and design assistance, and will be revealing some innovative new technologies to help Lord Williams's regain their title this year."
The final of the competition is being held on June 14 at Silverstone.
