Revolutionary developments in dinghy products from CTG
Mon 20th, Aug 2001Crompton Technology Group Ltd has revealed details of its latest developments for leisure and competition dinghies.
CTG has a long history of success in the development and manufacture of centreboards and rudders for dinghies worldwide, and has now used its knowledge in advanced materials technology to develop a new range of rudders and centreboards appealing to all dinghy sailing markets.
The company's backgrounds in both sailing and motorsport have led to the use of advanced composite materials to stiffen and reinforce the polyurethane moulded boards. This breakthrough in sailing technology will allow CTG to compete in the entry-level dinghy market, where previously only injection-moulded boards were available.
CTG will continue to produce its current range of very successful high performance centreboards and rudders, and can now seek to expand its share in the foils market.
Richard Galvin, Development Engineer at CTG, stated: "The combination of our materials technology and our long tradition in foil development and manufacture has made for some interesting and exciting developments. We are now able to offer a range of boards to cover the entire market from leisure boats to Olympic class competition dinghies".
This latest product from CTG has been developed alongside the company's carbon fibre tiller program.
