Promoting engineering in the local community - CTG wins soapbox derby
Mon 5th, Apr 2010
On Easter Bank Holiday Monday, CTG's soapbox made an appearance at the local Chacombe Soapbox Derby. Engineers: Rob Allen, Graeme Hyson, Oliver Lees and Engineering Director Mike Dewhirst defended their title once again.
The CTG soapbox was built a few years ago for the Goodwood Festival of Speed soapbox derby, again it dominated the podium places.
Dewhirst came first with 56 seconds, while teammate Allen who came a close second, was only one second behind.
Dewhirst said " This is a great, fun local event which helps people, especially young children to understand engineering. As a local Oxfordshire firm, we may even find our potential engineers at events like this!"
