Banbury Job Club played host to the Crompton Technology Group (CTG) on 4 Dec to try and fill some of their job vacancies.  The Job Club doors open at 11am and the level of interest in working for CTG became clear as CTG's Production Managers and technicians welcomed over 70 job seekers who had come along specifically to find out about CTG's current vacancies.

CTG Managing Director, Dr Scott Roberts, came along to the event too and commented, "I was very impressed with the enthusiasm that local people were showing for our vacancies and some of the skills and previous experience they were describing.  We have always said that if candidates show that enthusiasm on their application form and have the right attitude at interview, they are already on the right road to securing a job with us.

"It is such exciting times for CTG with forecasted growth over the coming years .and, dependant upon the success of our customers in these difficult economic times, we will be taking on another factory sometime in the near future and this will create even more jobs.  The Job Club and Cherwell District Council's staff have worked closely with CTG to make sure that this recruitment event has been such a success.  It has gone so well we are already talking about having another one in the New Year!"

Tony Baldry, MP, was also on hand at the Job Club and said " It was great to see so many local job seekers really take advantage of this special opportunity at the Job Club  to hear about employment opportunities at CTG.  CTG gave a very motivating presentation to a packed audience at the Mill, of the different industries they create parts for and their exciting growth plans for the future.  CTG has become a major employer in the area looking to recruit local people with quality jobs on offer."

Cllr Norman Bolster. Cherwell District Council portfolio holder for economic development and estates, said: "The council is keen to work with high profile local companies like CTG. Previously we've worked closely and successfully with Sainsbury's and Bicester Village, who have both found new staff through the Job Clubs – and events like this are an  excellent way to bring employers and job seekers together."
