Clean Energy Technologies
At CTG we have transferred our expertise of design, development and manufacture of advanced composite driveline products for the motorsport and performance automotive industries to the clean energy technologies sector. We produce bespoke advanced composite driveshafts for a variety of industrial applications, where metallic driveshafts don't have the properties required for specialist applications.
We also produce composite flywheels, turbo-machinery, high speed motors and generating sets. Composite flywheels are currently used in uninterruptible power systems, the flywheel stores kinetic enery and can release that energy when the mains power it cut. The system can produce energy for a short amount of time until generators are started up for longer periods of power. These systems are used in critical applications like hospitals where constant power is crucial.
Our
advanced composite driveshafts use exactly the same technology as our
motorsport products - optimised carbon fiber or glass fibre
composite, filament wound tube, bonded to high performance metallic
end-fittings and couplings.
Our products are ultra light -
reducing inertia and energy costs. Our products are torsionally stiff
- allowing longer single spans than metallic products and excellent
resistance to whirl, meaning they can operate at higher speeds. Our
products are exceptionally strong and fatigue resistant - giving
years of trouble-free use, even in harsh operating environments.
We
manufacture our clean energy driveline products to meet our customers'
individual requirements, with typical applications including print
roller shafts, test bed driveshafts, propeller shafts, turbine
shafts, and high speed, dimensionally accurate sleeves.
