About Us
CTG has established an international reputation for its innovation, quality and successful development of composite solutions across a wide business spectrum, from the medical imagery sector to aerospace and defence, automotive and clean energy generation.
CTG was formed through a management buy-out of Crompton Plastics in 2000 and under its new ownership the focus of the business moved to composite materials, putting it at the forefront of a fast-developing science. Composite materials are exceptionally strong, long-lasting, lightweight and, in many applications, require little maintenance. As an alternative to metals and alloys, they can deliver significant operating cost savings, reduce energy use and carbon emissions, and open up new possibilities in design by being easier to form into complex shapes, without compromising strength or durability.
Thanks to its technological vision and capabilities, CTG, based in Banbury in the UK, has successfully expanded its business and in June 2010 it was acquired by the Goodrich Corporation, a leading global supplier of systems and services to the aerospace, defence and homeland security markets. As part of Goodrich's Actuation Systems division, it is benefiting from significant new investment in innovation, facilities and research and development, and is able to play a key role in serving Goodrich's international OEM customers.
